Golfer Sees Two Cigar Shaped Objects
Near Tampa (2-447)
February 23, 2003, Tampa, FL Suburb
I was at the local golf driving range, halfway through a bucket of balls and taking
a smoke break. It was about 6 PM, bright and sunny. I had backed away from the line where
other golfers were still hitting balls. I looked up at the eastern sky and noticed two
cylindrical objects due east of me flying in formation heading due south. At first I
thought they were just airplanes, as Tampa International Airport is about 5 miles south
and 3 miles east of where I was. In fact, these objects had to have been in the restricted
airspace of TIA. I watched for several minutes, thinking a change of viewing angle would
make the expected wings visible to verify they were planes, but I never saw any wings, nor
tail for that matter. What was strange was (1) The height, as they were too low to be
aircraft heading further south, like Miami. I see those all the time, and even at cruising
altitude one can make out the wings. (2) The speed. They were moving too slow to be normal
airplanes like 727 or something and too fast and narrow to be blimps. (3) The location.
There should not have been aircraft at that altitude approximately 5000 ft. that were not
in a landing pattern for TIA. These craft did not change altitude, nor circle the airport
as would normal aircraft. They maintained a straight path the whole time they were in
sight. (4) There are never two aircraft that close to each other in a normal landing
pattern. If I guessed their size correctly, they were comparable to something like a
wingless 737, and they were about 200 yards apart. (5) They made no sound whatsoever, no
jet engine, no prop, no exhaust. Other golfers may have noticed the craft, but I said
nothing as people were hitting balls and it is real rude to shout out Hey, look at that.
By the time I realized the strangeness of the craft and their behavior, they had already
moved a couple of miles farther south and more difficult to distinguish from a regular
airplane.
These objects may turn out to be blimps, but I've seen lots of blimps and these were
higher than I've ever seen a blimp, and narrower that any blimp I've seen. They were
dangerously close to the air traffic if they were blimps. As far as I'm concerned, they
were unidentified, they were flying, and they were objects. I would be delighted if
someone confirmed they were blimps.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
The witness was very serious and interested in all aircraft, UFO's and aerial phenomena.
This was his first experience in observing a possible flying saucer. His brother is a
pilot and his father is a professional pilot, so he has a more interest in airplanes, jets
military planes and balloons.
He looks to the sky a lot and watches traffic in and out of TIA (Tampa International
Airport) and McDill Military Airport. He has been to many air shows and his perception of
distance to aircraft is good.
Air Traffic Control claimed there were no unidentified aircraft in the air this day.

Sighting w/ Missing Time & Entity

Winter Park, FL. Early morning of
September 4, 2002. I found myself sitting on the sofa in the living room. I have no memory
of waking up or falling asleep on the sofa. What I did remember what's coming in to the
house after seeing a huge object in the sky over a grassy area behind my house - facing
south. It is in an area with grass, tall trees and a wall blocking us off from another
subdivision. I know I was sitting on the grass watching the object above me in the sky. I
remember a beam coming down over me. After I was back in the house where I took out a pen
and drew a picture of what I saw. I don't know how much time was missing and only have a
bit of memory from this episode. I was in an enormous room with one other being. I also
knew there were many many other people inside the object but they were in some other area.
I kept asking the being with me when I could go home. His reply was, "You will go
now". I asked about the others in the craft and he said "It will be a long time
before they will go home". "They are here to help". The next thing I knew,
I was back home.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
Investigator's Notes: On September 9, 2002, five days after an experience, the witness
contacted Mark Rodeghier,Scientific Director of CUFOS. Mr. Rodeghier referred her to MUFON
HQ in CO. HQ referred her to Bland Pugh, FL State Director who contacted myself about this
witness. I emailed her on September 12th and made an appointment to visit her and
determine if a report should be taken. On September 21, 2002 at 13:30 hrs I met with the
witness at her home for a couple hours. She lives at her home with her husband and a grown
daughter. She is retired from twenty years working for the Federal Government in Navy
Research in the development of warfare systems. She is a very intelligent and credible
person. She presented me with a life time of abduction experiences. I decided to take a
report on her latest experience on September 4, 2002. I took a picture of the area outside
where she had the sighting. I also asked her some questions on observations I made. After
collecting the information and returning home to write the report, I realized that she
might be suitable for AMP being conducted by the UFO Research Coalition. I had recently
been contacted by them seeking abductees for their research project. I returned to the
home on October 5th at 14:00 hrs to complete report and prepare to determine her
suitability for AMP. Her suitability is now being tested.
This case is being placed in a position of being inactive 11-1-02, until we (Fl
MUFON)are advised differently.
My Son and I Saw What we Think is a UFO

My son was driving our minivan and I was in the passenger seat. He was on his way to his
friend's house. It was dark at about 6:26-6:28 PM. We were travelling down a limestone
road, and we were the only vehicle around. It was partly cloudy, no wind, clear--no rain.
We noticed the lights of the object first. It seemed as though it was just sitting in the
sky, hovering, I suppose. The lights looked square, yet appeared to be in a strip. The
lights seemed to be shaped in a half moon shape. My son kept saying, "What is
that?" and he stopped the van. He was so excited and we both could not figure out
what it was. It was hovering as we stopped then just went straight up, very fast. It
traveled as high as a big commercial airliner would be in the time it would take you to
say one. As it went up the lights went off for a minute, then came back on and then it was
just gone. Once it seemed to disappear, we left and traveled on to our destination.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
At the time of event MUFON had no investigators in this area, we attempted to contact
this witness with no success. I am recommending this case be closed.
Fall of the Sky Rock (2-311)
Sunrise, FL. December 11, 2002
I was sitting at my cubicle at work which is located next to large Plexiglas windows. I
was day-dreaming and I looked outside and into the sky where I saw a distant object that
at the time looked to be floating around, resembling a bird,which is what I thought it was
to begin with. I was staring at the bird pondering what it must be like to be able to fly
to such amazing heights when I realized that the objects structure did not resemble a bird
at all. It seemed more block-like or cylinder-like if the cylinder were lying horizontal,
or possibly even saucer shaped. I then got up and went to stand at the window to try to
get a closer look when the object began to descend in a way totally unlike that of any
bird or plane that I have ever seen. It began descending downward in what appeared to be a
straight line. The object was moving relatively slowly and appeared quite distant.
Distance in height if not length. It seemed to be black in color though that could be due
to the distance I was from the object. I watched to see if it would disappeared behind an
approaching cloud but it remained in view as it moved over the cloud, still moving slowly
down toward the horizon. It eventually did disappear behind a cloud effectively leaving my
frame of view. I did however seem to lose the object for brief seconds on a couple of
occasions before finding it again as it descended, superimposed over the clouds, but I
contribute that to my own eyes. The only reason I am reporting this sighting at all is
because of its shape distinguishing it from any bird or plane I have ever witnessed, and
the way it descended. Outside of VTOL craft I have never heard of any other craft to to
this. It also seemed smaller than a commercial airliner though again, it could be the
distance causing a distortion of my perception. I know there have been many reported
sightings all across the world recently and I am also curious to know if there have been
any other sightings in my area. Any information as to the possibility of the object being
extra-terrestrial would be appreciated and if there is anymore information I can give
though it would be limited if anything at all I would be more than happy to share.
Red Cigar with five bright connecting
lights: Weirsdale, FL
Marion County. August 20, 2003 12:30 A.M.
At home and finding out what the dogs were barking at. A feeling of being watched
and something telling me to look up. Joy and excitement. Shape cigar with 5 lights
connected in a row, surrounded by red glow. Changed shape to saucer shape with hub on top,
turned at a 45 degree angle when a meteor shot by underneath it. Then moved higher and
changed shape again to a ball with 2 diagonal tails from the back bottom. Did not lose
site of object. It moved across sky to another position in SW quadrant.
Silver-Blue Craft Near West Palm
Beach
May 7, 2003 9:30 P.M.
Becky writes: "I was outside in my back yard letting my dog back in. I looked up to
see the moon. It was about 9:30 and the sky was dark with a quarter moon lit up. When I
first saw the object I thought it was something drifting off the trees..but then noticed
it was high in the sky. I stood transfixed watching these two craft glide softly by in the
air. Two objects in the sky were spaced evenly apart. Both were Triangle in shape. Each
triangle craft looked like there 3 balls all attached together to from a single craft in
the shape of a triangle. Each craft was luminous like you could see through them but you
couldn't. Both passed directly under the moon making it easy to see that they were not
weather balloons. There was no sound as they passed. No flashing lights could be seen and
they both had a very soft silverblue glow as they glided along. During this time there was
an aircraft off to the right of them...You could see its flashing lights as it seemed to
at first be moving in the same direction then went veered off to the my right from the
ground. Moving quickly from the back yard through the house, grabbing husband and
son...the only thing left in the sky to see was the plane. Both craft had vanished. "
[Object was seen for about three minutes, at less than 300 ft, moving at slow speed.

Silver Cigar Near Englewood/Venice,

April 5, 2003. 1:00 P.M.
I was a passenger in a car driven by my boyfriend and we were heading to the
grocery store. I saw an object high in the sky that was cigar shaped and I kept my eye on
it thinking it was an odd plane. I just kept looking at it for about a minute or a little
over and then suddenly it disappeared. I was shocked to see it vanish on such a clear day
so I said something to my boyfriend about it. He did not witness it at all. I have
remained puzzled by what I saw so decided to report it.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
I talked with witness and she recanted her sighting report, saying "after thinking
about it, that in all likelihood it was an aircraft". This would be consistent with

Rectangular Object in the Sky
Navarre Beach, February 26, 2003, 5:00 P.M. I
was sitting in the passenger seat of my car while my 1512 year old daughter was driving
East on Manatee Drive in Navarre Florida Near Gulf Breeze. Up in the clear almost dusk sky
was a silvery rectangle shaped object hovering in one place about 3,000 feet up in front
of me. A plane passed over it and still it remained hovering. I asked my daughters if they
could see the object, they both said yes. They also described it as I saw it. The object
stayed in the sky above me for 3-4 minutes and then in an instant second it was gone. I
thought it may be a star but a star is round and not rectangular. I remained calm and was
totally amazed by this thing. I just told this account to my husband and he told me to
report it to MUFON.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
After contacting this witness she could not offer any further details of this sighting.

Light Strobe with Rectangle Above Trees
Gulf Breeze, FL. February 22, 2003, 8:00 A.M. Father
and daughter traveling in the car west on US highway 98 towards Gulf Breeze FL. Looked to
the right north approx.in Naval Live Oaks National Seashore reserve because the sky looked
unusually bright for the time of night. Just below the tree line we saw lights rather
close to the roadway maybe 200-300 ft away in a triangular shape with smaller lights just
below strobing; flashing randomly - several colors. Just beneath that, was a well defined,
rectangular, white translucent glowing object - a little less wide than the triangular
lights on top. Could not see any connection between the three collections of lights.
Blackness, but they all moved in unison -as if they were part of the same object- west on
HWY 98, pretty much matching our speed the rest of the way down the highway. Only lost
sight of it periodically as it went behind clumps of trees, remaining just below tree line
height until we got into the city proper. We then viewed it in the open at a slightly
higher altitude 200-300 ft off the ground. And it continued to appear in the same
configuration described above; same lights, shape etc. Never able to see anything
connecting the lights but they moved as if attached together. Didn't think to roll down
windows in the car so no sound was heard.The object continued to move NW and was
then obscured by some trees off and on and then strangely, it seemed a lot farther away,
in a few seconds, to the NW out over Pensacola Bay. At last sight we turned left into Gulf
Breeze suburb and it appeared to be a small light off in the distance over the bay. Lost
sight of it altogether when we fully turned down Shoreline Blvd. Maybe not connected,
about ten minutes after we got home about 1-2 minutes after the sighting my wife, daughter
and self heard loud jet noises continuously, for over an hour in the direction of
Pensacola. To me and my daughter, we thought it looked like the top of a cell-phone tower
sort of, but of course it moved. Also to me it seemed taller than wide and resembled a
Japanese lantern. Strangely, while we watched it, we were impressed that it seemed to
float quite gently as it traveled down the highway. The winds were unusually strong that
night. We also tried to convince ourselves it was a helicopter but it just was so strange
and didn't look or act like one.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
Talked with Father and Daughter, after they retold their story I feel that both are
credible. The explanation is very reminiscent of the Gulf Breeze sighting of the early
nineties. Apparently this was not similar to the "Bubba" UFO seen then but a
translucent object spotted on several occasions by this investigator while in the company
of three or more other MUFON investigators.
As this sighting was nothing more than a anomalous light, I am closing this case. Bland

"Super Fast" Triangle near
Melbourne
Brevard County April 17, 2003 1:00 A.M.
"First object, all of which were triangular in shape, caught my attention because it
did not have lights, was moving at a high rate of speed, and was able to slow
instantaneously and then suddenly resume its speed. I did not hear any sounds coming from
it. It happened so quickly that I was left wondering what it could have possibly been.
Within a few seconds or so, 3 additional craft in a triangular formation passed over head
at a high rate of speed but not nearly as fast as the first object. What happened next was
really breathtaking. Another aircraft, presumably the first one I witnessed, approached
the formation at a very high rate of speed. It stopped its rate of speed on a dime to join
the formation of the others. "
Object was seen in the north at an elevation of over 500 feet. The
surface color was black. Observer was a male technician.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
I interviewed the witness after receiving the sighting report from Bland Pugh, Florida
State Director. The name and location of this witness is only two miles from a major
airport and within ten miles out Patrick Air Force Base. After time to think about what he
saw , the witness believes he saw military aircraft during maneuvers in the early morning
hours. We have had increase of fly overs of military aircraft out of Patrick Air Force
Base since the start of the war in Iraq.
The witness was in total agreement of highest possibility (probability) this was only
military aircraft with maneuvering paths.
I believe this explanation concludes this investigation, therefore I am closing this
case.

Green Glowing Iridescent Ball of
Light near Naples
Polk County January 31, 2003
My husband and I were driving on a country road, SR 674, on our way to Naples, at about
6:00 am . It was still dark , and clear. We were looking straight ahead, then to my
husbands left he saw an object about the size of a full moon,lime green in color and
slowly descending into the woods. He was shocked and said, "Look at that! What is
that?" I turned and looked, also seeing it. The object was slowly descending into the
woods and it glowed lime green, and resembled the moon in size and shape. By the time we
saw it, it was approximately a few hundred feet above the tree tops. It descended and went
down into the woods. We were in shock, we watched it until it was out of our sight, it
just descended into the woods.The event we witnessed lasted only for approximately 30
seconds.We continued driving, never stopping, and did not turn the car around to
investigate, as we were in awe of the object and were in a location all alone on a very
dark country road. The object was very vivid and in plain view, obstructed by nothing,
until it went down into the woods. The woods were dense, we did not see a glow or anything
from the road, once the object descended into the woods. We would like to know if anything
of this kind has been seen by others...It was something we have no explanation for. It
simple looked like a lime green iridescent full moon descending from the sky into the
woods....... Any reply would be appreciated. It frightens me that we have no idea what it
was.

Margate Glowing UFO
October 11, 10:50 P.M. 2002, Broward County I
was on my front porch.I was looking to the east when the object appeared from the N.W.
over my neighbors house.It traveled to the S.E. and out of view behind a large tree where
I lost sight of it.I called my son who was inside and told him about it. My reaction was
kind of like shock. You know like,what the hell was that? The object moved in a straight
line at app.200 mph.I am a U.S.Navy vet. Having been a helicopter mech.I live in the
flight path of Ft.Lauderdale Executive Airport,and am familiar with all the civilian
aircraft that go in and out there.In daylight and at night I am familiar with these
planes.Also there are not many foreign,and no U.S.military aircraft that I cant
identify.This object had no sound at all.I am just puzzled as to what it might have
been.Thanks for your time.

October 17, 2002 Wrote e-mail to witness. Spoke with him on the telephone at 5:30 P.M.
Witness said that he had been outside smoking only saw the object for two seconds but
it appeared as a luminous green light with a black band around it. There was no sound from
the object. He was facing south and wasn't sure of the distance, but estimated the speed
at 200 mph. He called his son to look but by that time the object had disappeared behind
the trees. He was positive that it was no known aircraft but since there is a Seminole
casino behind his house he speculates that it could have been some sort of aerial display
from the casino. .
Witness said he would call if there were any further sightings.

Called Seminole Gaming Casino in Hollywood, FL. Mr. Adam Sak from the Marketing
Division said that no flares or other devices had been sent up on October 11.
Recommend that the case be closed.

Bedroom Sighting of Entity
On Saturday August 24th [2002] witness was spending the weekend with her boyfriend at
his home in Oxford area. They were both asleep when she was suddenly startled and
woke up. She looked over at the clock and it was 01:30 am. She was feeling very anxious.
As she glanced over towards the doorway she saw a silhouette. It was of a
"being" that she has seen before. The being stands approximately four feet tall,
has a large head for it's height and long arms that hang down approximately two feet. She
wanted to wake up her boyfriend, but couldn't get herself to move. She felt paralyzed. The
being continued to look at her. She "felt" as though being wanted her to
come towards it. This event seemed to last ten minutes, although she can not be sure how
long it lasted. She closed her eyes for what she thought was a short time and when she
reopened them it was gone. Everything seemed normal and she eventually went back to sleep.

On the 20th of August I made an appointment with the witness and her boyfriend to visit
and discuss her experiences. When I arrived I was surprised to learn that the very morning
of our appointment on August 24th, in the early hours, she had another experience. I
decided to take a report on this incident as it is most recent. This witness has had
abduction experiences her whole life. Her grown children have also had these experiences,
but have only recently started to talk about it. This witness wants these experiences to
stop. I have shared with her techniques that I am aware of that other abductees have used
successfully to stop abductions (or so they believe). There is nothing more that we can do
for her. We will be staying in touch should there be any further developments. Both the
woman and her boyfriend are intelligent and very credible people.
UFO Follows Car for 45 Minutes
April 10, 1999, 10 miles North of Freeport, FL.
Hi, what happened is as follows.
My friend Chris and I had been out in the country side, where I was developing a 4 acre
lot for personal use, all of that day. As evening approached we sat back, built a small
fire and enjoyed 1 beer each and had a snack before driving home. When we were ready for
the long ride home we got in the car and headed out onto the dirt road my lot was on. ( 5
miles from highway) I can't remember the name of the highway but it goes directly north
and south between Defuniak Springs and Freeport. My lot was on a spot known as Rock Hill,
I believe one of the highest places in the state of Florida. Anyway we lived in Ft. Walton
Beach and so would reach the highway and head south, after heading east on the dirt road
for five miles. Then we would head east again on highway 20 when we reached Freeport,
traveling all the way into Ft. Walton. As soon as we left my lot we saw a light appear
right above my car, then a second light and then a third, forming a triangle,and then from
the first light a new light would go from it to the second and then back again to the
first , then the lights would go out in the opposite order that they came on. The lights
looked similar to auto headlights. They part of one craft. The craft was within 500 feet
maybe as close as 200 feet at times. The craft stayed with us , repeating this strange
(signal?) every minute or so. We drove all the way to Freeport with the craft just above
us( about 12-15 miles). We stopped at the convenience store at the intersection of highway
20 and bought a soda. When we left the store , turning east towards Niceville/Ft. Walton,
the craft was right on top of us again. ( after we had seen the craft for the first 2 or 3
times I asked my friend if we could stop and look more closely, but he was deathly afraid
to do so and so I did not stop the car, I had the feeling that if we had stopped the craft
would come down to us and was a little afraid myself) Anyway, the craft followed along
with us all the way to the outskirts of niceville where it left us and headed a about half
a mile to the North, there other craft appearing the same way joined it , literally,
forming one craft. There were many of them, maybe 5 or 6 . Then small orbs, red in color
and flying erratically, would join it as well. These craft came from the woods below and
from the horizon. Then a few craft broke off again and streaked away in different
directions. Then the craft emitted a shower of sparks from the side , sat there a moment
and shot off to the North East. I am an Air Force brat, have served time in the Army, and
am college educated. I have never seen anything like this in my life and have know idea
what it could have been. My guess is it was extraterrestrial. I know about stealth blimps
etc. and thought "maybe", but the small orbs (the size of beach balls) and the
sudden speeds these triangular things were capable of were just incredible. It was a clear
night and these were all of these were below any cloud cover anyway.
About a year before this , in broad daylight, while on my lunch break ,
in Navarre Florida , I witnessed what looked like a rusty metal cylinder fly by, heading
south towards the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 150 feet directly above me and maybe 50
miles an hour making no sound. I could almost see flakes of rust on this object, I have no
idea what this was either. There were no other witnesses that I know of, my co-workers had
gone to lunch and I was at the shop alone unfortunately. Recently I have read other
reports of people seeing the same triangular craft, even the emissions of sparks etc. Do
you know what I saw and do you think it was signaling us with the triangular lights and
motioning light etc.? Thanks for your interest ; I really saw these things and have

I awoke to find myself panicked, trying to get the
bathroom light on while facing into my bedroom.there was an object floating outside my
bedroom window. it had 4 colored lights on it and was a sphere. The lights divided it into
4 separate colors like a Simon game I had when I was a kid. Suddenly I heard "go back
to bed" and as I walked back into my room, the object went over the top of the house
and came down outside my son's window. I went back to bed and did not even wake my
husband. I do not remember anything after that. 1-968
Organized groupings of light over cow pasture
behind my house
Near Melbourne, Feb. 2, 2002; 9:45 P.M. Objects
observed for over an hour.1. In house looking out glass doors2. Wife noticed orangy
line of lights at treetop level in cow pasture behind house.3. Possibly a fire in a palm
tree4. We went outside to see what it was. it began grouping into lines of two or three,
then three in triangular pattern. Single objects would split into two or more and then go
back together. Final appearance same night was at least seven in a neat row at tree top
level. Three shut off, two appeared far above treetops. Zoomed in with digital zoom on
super-8 Sony camera revealing cluster of three lights pulsating red/yellow/orange in
triangle shape. Video does not do it justice. Autozoom worked terribly, very pixilated.
Nonetheless, quite amazing. Please, only those in official capacity at MUFON to contact me

STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
ENTER INVESTIGATOR'S NOTES HERE. On 2/03/02 I contacted the primary witness by
phone to set up a time and place for an interview.The witness said the next day at 7:00pm
at his home would be fine. He also stated at the time we spoke the lights being seen had
occurred for the second day in a row. I visited the witness at his home on the evening of
2/04/02.Present were his wife and child at the home.I introduced myself and asked the
witness to explain what he had observed.The explanation was pretty much the same as he had
stated in his report. He stated that he had videotaped the lights in question for two
consecutive evenings.I asked to see the video tape while we were waiting for the time the
lights had been appearing.There were a couple of points I made to him while watching the
video that he had not realized. First,he said the lights did not move but blink in or out
only.On the video tape you can see that the lights drift and fall to the southerly
direction.This can be seen as they are in relation to a fixed object,a tree. Second,on one
close-up shot a smoke trail can be see going straight up from the light.As in the case of
a flare falling. After viewing the videotape we went outside to see if the lights might
appear again.A few minutes later they did appear as in the prior two evenings.The lights
had all the characteristics of a military type flare. Also at the time, military aircraft
could be seen leaving the area returning to Patrick AFB only a couple of miles away. The
witnesses were both professional people.They were very excited at the time of the first
sightings.Both were able to see the similarities to flares.The wife even stated that she
had told her husband that she felt they were probably flares. I feel comfortable at this
time to say that what was seen were military flares

N.E. FL coast Numerous Starlike
Objects Fast and High
Date of sighting-12-06-01 time 6:35pm. Place: Palm Coast, Flagler Co.
Fl. J. was sitting on back deck when an object I first thought was a star was moving from
SE to NW. I went inside to get binoculars and told J. to come out quick. I tracked
the object which was starlike in appearance and I thought could be the space station,or a
satellite. The light was white and appeared to be self generated. The object tracked
straight overhead before disappearing to the NW. At the same time I was tracking object#1,
J. observed a similar object tracking east ; she then observed three additional similar
objects traveling directly behind the first object she observed. The three objects
appeared to be lined up diagonally following the first object she observed, all in an
easterly direction.We both then observed a similar object tracking from north to south. We
both then observed a similar object tracking se to NW. I also observed a similar object
moving from n to s with only binoculars;I couldn't pick it up with the naked eye and lost
it when I tried again with binocs. [Duration of sighting. 6-10 minutes. Clear sky. 3
witnesses. Lowest altitude over 500 feet. Distance: over 1 mile.]
Skimmer Bug Sphere and Fighter Planes
Investigator interviewed the witness by telephone on August 27, 2001. He stated that he
and his son's fiancée were sitting by the pool at about 11:30 p.m. on August 10, 2001.
They were looking toward the north at the night sky from his residence on 4th Street N. in
St. Petersburg when they saw a bright object, white in color, appear in the sky. moving
like a skimmer bug skimming across water in a pulsing fashion. It stopped, banked at sharp
angles, zigzagging right and left and immediately changed directions 180 degrees, then
drifted. It would repeat these actions several times during the sighting.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
The sky was fairly clear but there was some cloud cover which made it difficult to
determine the exact shape of the object, although it appeared to be spherical. The
distance was approximately 2 miles and the elevation 5.000 feet.
The witness is an ex-Air Force pilot and is familiar with fighter planes. He said after
about 15 minutes 4-6 fighter planes came from the direction of MacDill AFB and passed by
in a south to southeasterly direction as though they were searching for something. The
first pass they made was at a low altitude of about 1/3 mile above the bay directly below
the object and the next pass was at a higher altitude. However, the object remained
motionless during these periods and it escaped detection.
Later, about 14 or 15 small white/beige lights seemed to materialize from all
directions of outer space. They kept circling the large object, getting closer and closer,
then all stopped and remained motionless with a little movement from time to time.
After about one hour, witness returned to his apartment. He is at a complete loss to
understand what he observed because nothing in his Air Force career remotely resembled
this sighting.
Investigator telephoned Bob Maxson at MacDill AFB, 813-828-3310, X3005, on that same
date and told him that an ex-AF pilot witness had observed 4-6 fighter planes which
appeared to come from MacDill AFB at 11:30 p.m. on August 10 and seemed to be doing
reconnaissance over Tampa Bay.
Mr. Maxson said they do not keep fighter planes at MacDill but sometimes they come from
other air bases for practice. He did not have records of these practice sessions.
Two Glowing Spheres
St. Petersburg, FL. Sept 7, 1999 The witness called the UFO Reporting
Center, Seattle, WA on 9/7/99 and the case was taken from their information. The witness
was asleep in her bedroom when she awoke at 3:08 a.m. The room was fully illuminated with
a silvery white light. Her first thought was that it might be lightning, but when she
looked out of her bedroom window, which is situated directly on the bay, she observed two
huge balloon-shaped spheres gliding from west to east over the bay. The spheres were about
six times the size of a full moon but much brighter. They were about 600-700 feet above
the bay and so close to her window that she felt she could almost reach out and touch
them. There were rays of white light streaming from the bottom of each. The objects did
not make any noise. Their color was a luminous white. The night was clear , no
precipitation and the bay was serene and calm.
The spheres were traveling rapidly and when she changed her view to the kitchen, the
objects were gone. The witness said this was nothing that she had ever seen before. The
light was so intense it permeated every corner of her bedroom. She felt awe and peace. She
then went back to bed and slept soundly for the remainder of the night.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
Sept. 24, case was received by Tampa Bay MUFON from Peter Davenport, UFO reporting
Center, Seattle, WA. Sept. 24, case was assigned to Polly Bryan and she counted the
witness to schedule and interview. Sept. 25, Investigator met with the witness at 2:00
p.m. at the Isla Del Sol clubhouse. Witness lives with her 92 year old mother whom she
felt might be upset by the subject of UFOs, so the meeting was not held in her residence.
Sept. 27, Investigator contacted Andre Diggs at Tamp International Airport Traffic Control
(813)371-7700 and was informed they had no record on the log of any such objects. Sept.
27, Inv. contacted St. Petersburg police, (727)893-7780. Operator Holmes said there is no
record of the objects.
MacDill Air Force Base - Bob Maxson (8130 828-3310 X 3123 ALSO SAID THEY HAVE NO
RECORD.
The witness was happy to have someone to talk with about her experience. She said she
knows very little about UFOs. The investigator and witness spent approx. two hours
discussing the information given in the sighting account. Witness stated that she was not
at all frightened by the event and felt nothing but peace afterward.
Pinwheel of Color
Sept. 7, 1999, Seminole County. The witness woke up abruptly at 4:49
a.m. because colored lights were flashing in her bedroom. They were so bright and she said
that she was more wide awake than she usually is on rising in the morning. She then went
into the living room which also was lit with flashing colored lights. She immediately
opened the locked front door and looked around the area and saw nothing, she was expecting
to see emergency vehicles outside. She then looked up to the west to see a swirling,
beautiful bunch of lights that were the cause of all the brightness in the surrounding
area. These lights were forming a giant circle and contained every color of the rainbow,
pink, rose, red, red orange, yellow, yellow orange, green, white, blue green and violet,
she said. The were swirling in a counter-clockwise direction and somehow made the witness
stare in awe at what she described as the most beautiful thing she had ever seen (figure
1). This swirling light formation was traveling very slowly from the west towards the
south and just above a small palm tree and light post only 250 to 300 ft. away when the
witness first saw it. She then started yelling for her son, who was asleep in the living
room, to come and see this. After more yelling and watching the object briefly out of the
living room window, the witness persuaded him to come out and look. After only a very
short time she was again outside watching this swirling light phenomena move a little to
the south. Her son was able to see the object as it was in a second phase, a turquoise
ball with a streak behind it (figure 2). It was approximately 75 ft. wide. After approx.
two minutes both witnesses were then astonished to see it change into a saucer like object
which formed a cloud around it and then rose directly up and disappeared. Both witnesses
agreed to witness two’s drawings of what they saw and that the gray object had two
white lights at either end.
Both witnesses were frightened and ran into the house, barricading themselves and a
younger child in the house. She called her husband at work who was on a midnight shift
asking him to come right home. She continued to secure the house and when he came home he
found them both distraught.
They called the airports and did not get a satisfactory answer nor did they know who
they should call for help. After waiting on hold, the last airport said there had been a
lot of meteor sightings this morning and also that Russian Satellite Debris had reentered
the atmosphere. They informed the husband to call the police. The local TV station heard
of their calls and cameras and media employees arrived five hours later and interviewed
her on camera.
She had also called the MUFON hotline and Lorraine Gerber, responded with a phone call
in the morning arranging for an interview at 1:00 p.m. that afternoon. Three
investigators, Lorraine Gerber, Robert Kruse and Jimmy Kruse, arrived on the scene for the
initial interview and Lorraine Gerber followed up with several other visits after that
time. Bob Kruse returned to the area several days later, to take some of the measurements.
Because of the negative reaction she received from her family and friends who saw the
FOX TV news coverage, she preferred to have us withhold names etc.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
We had the witnesses draw pictures of the object in the three different positions that
they saw it in. They were still quite upset about the event. We interviewed them that
afternoon and Lorraine Gerber, SSD, reported it to Channel 13, FOX TV. They had already
shown the witness on the noon news and after the call interjected that MUFON was
investigating the case and at this time it does not look like it might be a Russian
Booster Rocket that was reentering the atmosphere as reported by NASA.
There were hundreds of calls reported to the radio and TV stations regarding sightings
at approximately 5:00 a.m. that morning.
We have
since, kept in regular contact with the family. Robert Kruse calls on a regular basis and
Lorraine Gerber has visited the family addressing all of the questions that have come up
in the last two years (now 2001). They have attended our meetings and are comfortable with
what has happened to them during this sighting. The family has a history of unusual events
occurring that are related to the alien abduction phenomena. They have discussed
remembered events with Lorraine and call whenever they have a need to share. The second
witness had many questions and spent hours discussing them with Lorraine.
Cigar-Shaped Object
Sept. 7, 1999, Near Sarasota. I was going to work, approximately 4:55
a.m. and I saw an object that looked like a Jet Liner that was about to crash, I got out
of the truck, left the motor running and lights on. I saw a blinking light on the front, a
blinking light on the rear, a glow around the object. It was not on fire. I thought it was
a blimp that came back from an exercise. I got back into the truck after watching it for
approximately five minutes, I didn’t hear anything, no air hitting anything, no
engine. (The witness was alone in the car at the time.) He looked to the south while on
the highway (which was going west at that time). The object was heading towards Englewood,
to the west. At arms length the movement from what I saw was approximately 12 inches for
the time I watched. He thought, “What the h… is going on here. I thought it
might be landing, because it wasn’t going anywhere. When he determined that it was
not a plane crashing he just started to observe it. He thought it was some kind of blimp
at that time. It was moving very slowly to the southwest.
The light on the front was white. The rear light was blue, flashing like the light on
top of a bus. It was a kind of glow. It had three windows, like a commercial jet liner,
but I just saw it like a passenger blimp. The lights inside the windows were like lights
on in a room. The outer area was glowing all around it, like a yellow-white look to it. It
was approximately 225 ft long , like a DC10, it was big, and it was approx. 1000 yards
away from me and 800-850 ft. above ground. It was a wooded area, that’s why I
stopped, I thought I would get a pinpoint of the area where it went down. I left because I
had to go to work. It was just about 5:05 a.m.
2 of 4 I stopped at a 7-ll for my coffee when I got off 75 onto exit 39 there were
quite a few police cars and fire engines roaming around in circles. I was between exit 33
and 35. Then I came into work it was about 6:00 a.m.. I got to talking to a friend of mine
about an hour later and he asked did you hear about this UFO Sighting? “What do you
mean?“ I asked him. He told me that UFOs were reported that on the news. I then told
him that I saw something this morning. It hit me real had when he told me that.
Then I called the Sarasota Tribune and then SMN News (?) called me and I told them the
same thing. When I did get off 75 onto exit 39 there were quite a few police cars and fire
engines roaming around in circles. I was between exit 33 and 35.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
Lorraine Gerber/Phil Bayly contacted the witness after seeing the article in the Venace
Herald Tribune.
Natural Phenomena Check:
It was a cloudless sky, unlimited visibility and the object was at close range He was
expecting it to crash into the woods. He was a former fire fighter and so he was going to
note the location. It just hovered. There was no wind, no sounds in the woods, no engine
sound.
Man Made Object Check:
Witness said he knew that it was something that he never saw before. He thought it
might have been a balloon, but he has never seen anything like this before. The local Fire
Department was contacted and they referred us to the Sheriff’s Department and
provided the Chief’s Secretary’s number. They confirmed that there was a call
that morning and that they responded with emergency equipment and Police Officers.
Witness Background Check:
The witness was interviewed on the job with his co-workers in the building. He met us
at the door and escorted us into a conference area. His story coincides with what the
Venice Herald Tribune said and he is still working at the same Church as a Custodian,
without any repercussions.
Sighting Evaluation:
The public was told by the media that NASA said it was a Russian Booster Rocket
re-entering at 17,000 mph from the northwest to the southeast. This object was not
traveling at that speed, nor did it move in that direction when it did move.
Six Speeding Lights in Formation
Sept. 7, 1999. Upon arrival on-site, at the motel, the witness made it
clear that a tape recorder could not be used. Also expressed was some concern for possible
negative Public Relations that could result for the motel and the witness. There was some
reluctance expressed to even allow an interview to be done. Both investigators expressed
their understanding of the concern and explained that complete anonymity would be
maintained. This arrangement was acceptable and the interview proceeded. My best memory of
the witness’s narration follows:
I was standing on the (north side of the) second story walkway of the motel at about
5:05 when I first saw some very bright (assumed) aircraft headlights right over there
(pointing northwest over the water at about 20 degrees of arm elevation while standing at
the point of observation). The airport is also nearby right over there (pointing
northward) a few miles and that entire area is within the normal flying pattern for its
aircraft. I first thought that a plane was either coming in for a landing or taking off. I
soon changed my mind. This thing was coming too fast for that, and then I realized it was
several vehicles in formation. The one in front was big and triangular in shape. There
were three others following behind with I believe similar shapes. It was easy to see the
lead vehicle because those following behind it were in close formation and were shinning
their lights on it. I could clearly see its unusual triangular shape and the surface
looked like shinny metal or silver colored. As the formation came closer, it still
remained out over the water. Then I walked (about fifteen feet) over here (to the
northwest of the building) to be able to continue keeping them in sight. When they were
right out there (perpendicular to the coastline-westward) I knew I was seeing something
very different from normal aircraft. They were going so fast that I felt sure I would hear
a shock or see their afterburners lit up, but it was completely silent. It was eerie. I
felt strange, as if the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck. As they continued
southward the formation stayed right together, but I could see space between the vehicles.
I never saw anything change or heard any noise. They quickly flew on by and went out of
sight that way (pointing southward). I don’t know what’s going on, but it
didn’t seem normal. So, I later reported it to the news media. Well, I guess
that’s my story. I still don’t know what to think of it and would like to know
more about it, since the news media took pretty light of it.
STATEMENT OF SOLUTION
Natural Phenomenon Check: The sky was clear with unlimited visibility except for a few
small low level scattered clouds. The position of observation was excellent. It was
elevated with no man made obstructions to conflict with the sighting. The witness was
outside with a dark contrasting sky to clearly see and was adjacent to an isolated beach
area (within 50ft.) without wind, waves or automobiles to restrict or distort optimum
hearing.
Man Made Object Check: The witness did not believe that the object(s) observed were
current day aircraft. They were too unusual in all operational and physical
characteristics. (speed, shape, no sound, etc.)
Witness Background Check: This witness was seen by the investigators to be the obvious
owner-manager at the motel where the interview was conducted. The witness was behind the
desk upon our arrival and continued interface with the motel customers in a manner clearly
consistent an owner-manager position. Business cards were also available on the counter to
further verify the witness’s authenticity.
Sighting Evaluation: The public was quickly told by the news media that the Government
(Space Command) and NASA said this event was attributable to a Russian Booster Rocket
re-entering at 17,000 mph tracking from the northwest to southeast. Some elements of the
witness’s observations are reasonably consistent with general parameters of the
Government/NASA assessment, such as high speed, general direction and “bright lights
in the sky.” However, many other details of the witness’s account are clearly
in-consistent with that account, including the vehicle’s shape, color and the absence
of sound or a shock wave. This means that this witness’s account as easily denies the
”official” assessment as supports it. This leaves most objective conclusions
open at this time.
In addition, other witnesses’ sighting details in conjunction with other evidence
(from this same date, approximate timing and general area) are under current MUFON
investigation. There are similarities and other discrepancies therein with this
witness’s account and with the Government/NASA’s account. This adds further
uncertainty concerning the event(s) occurring on that early morning of September 7, 1999.
