Thomas said that at on August 1st at 12:00 midnight he had been watching a rerun of a UFO program on the History Channel and at 1:00 watched about ten minutes of the news broadcast.  At that time he felt an overwhelming urge to go out into the back yard. He saw an orange light above the retention pond in back of his yard where there is an open sandy basin where the rainwater goes down into the ground. He said that the object that he saw was the same one that he saw over the Gulf, but it was straight across, not tilted and about 200 to 300 feet in the air. It was like a straight bar and pointed at the end, but it may have been a disk.  The surface was orange, pulsating, beautiful, flowing like water.  Instead of lights there were three squares, then a space and then three more squares. He felt that it could be covered by “a blanket unfolded".  He saw it for about 45 seconds and then it completely vanished. The night was silent with not even the crickets making noise.  He found it hard to get back inside. He made some noise coming back, but did not awaken the others in his house.  He called the investigator at 3:52 A.M., but “thought it was earlier", about 10 minutes after he came in. There was missing time of approximately two hours and thirty-two minutes, during which apparently an abduction took place.  On August 3, Thomas discovered a small red triangle which burned slightly in the center of his chest.  He was also extremely thirsty and drank four 16 ounce bottles of water without being satisfied.  On August 4th Thomas went to a doctor who said that he didn't know what caused the red triangle but that "it was nothing to worry about."  The doctor did determine that Thomas' electrolites were very low and his triglicerides dangerously high.  Thomas also developed a fear of people with dark eyes or sunglasses.

The picture below shows a "cartoon dog" that Thomas had dreamed of several times.  In the dream, the fluffy white dog with black eyes floats out from behind the pond (picture above) and is looking into his eyes, appealing him to follow it.  It would not let him touch it, however.
